Personal History Ambitious at a young age, Carson was normally at the top of his class. He worked hard and played hard, enjoying a big social group of friends. He played several sports in school, and while never being MVP, was always a contributing member of the team. He and his brother often competed for top spot, or for anything, like brothers do.

He got accepted into the Academy a year before his brother, and instantly fell in love with medical. After Starfleet Academy he went to Medical school, where he met his wife, who was in nursing at the time. Their relationship waxed and waned for years as their different assignments brought them closer and took them further apart. By happenstance they were assigned the same vessel, which was when they finally got married.

That same vessel which brought him joy also brought sorrow. During a routine mission near a nebula the vessel was damaged by a burst of energy. During the following day trying to save the vessel, Carson found himself in a damaged section of the vessel. He doesn’t know what happened, but woke up days later in sickbay. It was then he learned that his wife had died trying to save several crew members.

After many surgeries, doctors were unable to fully return function to the leg. Between the trauma to the leg and radiation it was exposed to during the damage, there was no way to fully return 100% function back. He learned to walk on it, but preferred using a cane to make his mobility easier.

He returned back to active service, but was transferred several times, never finding a “home” vessel again. He had issues with each of his commands, ultimately leading him to being transferred.
